With deep sorrow we inform, that on the 18th of January 2012, at the age of 82, Jadwiga Kedzierzawska, script writer and director of both feature and documentary films passed away.
She was a graduate of Polish Film School based in Lodz, cooperated with Se-ma-for studio since 1959, where she realized most of her films. Her films, including live action series "Tomek i Pies", "Z przygodą na ty", "Ucieczka-wycieczka" and "Rozalka Olaboga" as well as feature film "Chciałbym się zgubić..." were mostly aimed at children and youth audience. She was honoured with many awards at both Polish and international festivals, such as: FF in Venice (Brown Lion), FF in Teheran, FF in Tampere, FF in Cork, FF in Krakow (Silver Hobby-Horse), FF in Poznan (Golden and Silver Goats), as well as distinctions of City of Lodz, Golden Cross of Merit and Medal of the National Education Commission. Her daughter, Dorota Kedzierzawska continues a family tradition in film making.

After endless perturbations, long-awaited continuation of 2. Se-ma-for Film Festival in Switzerland finally eventuates. On January 12th in Swiss Lugano the festival will start with a special screening of THE LOST TOWN OF SWITEZ, a film, which has it's roots in Lodz Se-ma-for studio. Also, citizens of largest city of Ticino canton will watch 9 films announced in September 2011 during Lodz edition of the festival as nominees by the International Jury President, Bernd Ogrodnik. During the Award Ceremony in Lugano statues of Little Peter will be given to: Anita Killi for Best Film and Best Director for ANGRY MAN and Märt Kivi for Best Animation for Estonian film BODY MEMORY by Ulo Pikkov. Moreover, participants of Lugano edition will be able to honour chosen film with Audience Award.

Beijing, Madrid, Tokyo, Paris… Se-Ma-For European/Asian Express 2011, having traveled nearly 60 000 km and visited 4 world metropolis, came back to the country on the Vistula. Already now we can proudly say we achieved success and have well-represented Poland during its presidency in the European Union Council! We gave people from four corners of the world a lot of joy and emotions, also reasons for consideration, both of art and life. We created and live through something that will for ever remain in our memory as well as in memory of all our partners and participants of this project.
