SCULPTURE OF THE MAGIC PENCIL UNVEILING

Se-ma-for Film Festiwal is not only screenings, workshops and meetngs with curious guests but also music events and the so-called 'permanent-footsteps'. During the first edition those footsteps were the star of Wladyslaw Starewicz and the monument of Little Penguin Pik-Pok. This year next to Miś Uszatek, Pok and Filemon and Bonifacy a statue of THE MAGIC PENCIL will join.

 

In connection to unveiling of the monument, we would also like to invite you to a special screening of the feature film JOURNEY WITH A MAGIC PENCIL (1991, 70’), dir. Andrzej Piliczewski > 25.09.2011 (SUNDAY), 01.00 p.m. > ŁDK (18 Traugutta Street)

 

Protagonists of the film are: Piotruś, dog and… a title magic pencil. One day Piotruś and the dog find in the sea a bottle with a piece of paper asking for help from a mysterious castaway. They decide not to waste any time. Together they set out on a dangerous trip across the seas and oceans in order to find the shipwrecked person. They also take the magic pencil with them. Thanks top it they will escape many dangers.

CLOSING GALA OF THE 2. SE-MA-FOR FILM FESTIVAL

SzaZa for Goodnight

 

Premiere of the project SzaZa for Goodnight within which an excellent Warsaw duet (Paweł Szamburski/Patryk Zakrocki) will commemorate 100th birthday of Karol Baraniecki (graphic artist, creator of “The Magic Pencil”) and Czesław Janczarski (creator of literary character of Uszatek bear), and will also recall Piotr Hertel, who died last year and who composed music for „Uszatek Bear”, „Little Penguin Pik-Pok”, „Three Bears” and “The Little Plasticine Man’s Diary”, and Marian Kiełbaszczak, unique animator and director of animated films, co-author of among others the series of “The Colourful World of Pacyk”, “Adventures of Uszatek Bear”, “Maurice and Hawranek”, “Adventures of Colargol”. After last year’s concert by Starewicz / SzaZa Project we should be expecting a wonderful evening!

DJ MONO - Being one of a hundred best DJs in Poland (Laif magazine), DJ Mono has been involved in Polish club scene for 18 years already . In his career he has already presented almost every kind of world broken beatz. Today he doesn't focus on any specific style, experimenting constantly - he mixes musical directions, tempos and styles. He doesn't accept dull mixes, boring dj sets and.. a dentist. Mono performs in whole Poland - during club nights, movie and sport festivals (like Miller Fresh, Nu Jazz and Funk Festival, Basketmania, BeachSoccer Tour, Red Bull Cap Trophy). As a producer Mono released his first two tracks already in 1998. He is still developing by colaborations with musicians and vocalists. Searching new forms he landed up in Austrian PE! Music, Klinika Pozytywnych Wibracji (Positive Vibrations Clinic), Burning Lion Kolektive (both from Lodz) and Cracow's Slow Motion Project. Mono is a resident DJ of Zakopane's Ampstrong club and many clubs in Lodz. It is often possible to hear him in Radio Bis ("Beatblender") and Radio Lodz ("Nocny Trans"). He's been strongly involved in musical-graphic branch as a graphic designer being an author of numbers of posters and club releases. He has performed during hundreds of events where he supported, just to mention a few: Freestylers, Dub Pistols, Andy C, Hype, Hardfloor, Dark Globe, Josh Wink, Urszula Dudziak, Drummatic Twins, Harry K (Apollo440) and DJ Zinc. In February 2007 could be pressed on vinyl by Buzzbee Records with ols skool track TikTak – but some stupid english crap makers didn't managed this...ok ?. Year 2006 also comes with a double visit to Germany for an EssenStadt Festival and Recycle Night in Berlin’s Icon Club / with Black Sun Empire /. In 2007 he joined Respecta Kru to spread some jungle seeds all over the Europe. With Kwazar and Playaman he started producing jungle remixes for polish ragga groups..
